November 14 Outreach
This was our fifth outreach to older black Africans across Greater Manchester in areas: Openshaw, Collyhurst, Harpurhey, Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall, Middleton, Salford, Burnage, Rusholme, Stretford, Moss Side, Oldham and Bury.
OBADO has distributed 128 parcels so far since July 2020 for cultural foods, natural remedies, home essentials and personal protective items to keep safe from COVID-19.
Big thanks to the Government for the Corona virus Community Support Fund distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund; and for the fund from Forever Manchester without which the great works for a noble cause would not have been achieved.
OBADO has an advice line and keeps in touch with Older Black Africans through welfare checks every week to ensure they are safe and well protected. They are encouraged to keep healthy and active which has boosted their confidence; and they are alert about what is going on in their communities. Various referrals are also made and followed up for urgent needed support. Older Black Africans are happy, feel loved and valued. Great thanks to the Government and our funders for making this possible.
